Green Pill_Aug’24

The XVII volume of The Green Pill deals with the topic of water stress. Highlighting that only a small share of the Earth’s water is in the form of usable freshwater, it goes on to highlight that India faces water stress. This is an issue since a large section of the population is dependent on agriculture and key industries such as power and steel could get affected. The Report also showcases the progress on various water related SDG goals for India (chiefly goal 6). Appreciating the progress on integrated water management and access to drinking water for all, it outlines that per capital water availability continues to decline. It concludes with possible solutions to this challenge.
