The State Bank of India is the largest commercial bank in India in terms of profits, assets, deposits, branches and employees. At the end of the financial year 2004-05 (April-March), the Bank had total assets of Rs. 4598.83 billion, total deposits of Rs. 3670.48 billion, and made a net profit of Rs. 43.04 billion during the year.
